It took until we were more than 20 minutes into the game before Amar'e Stoudemire finally hit a bucket from the field and Jason Richardson continued to have trouble in the scoring department during the first half but - despite these drawbacks - the Suns went on to garner a fan pleasing win at home on Saturday night.
Powered by the offensive spark of Steve Nash, Robin Lopez, Goran Dragic and Grant Hill - the 112-103 victory over Golden State was built on the backs of 35 points coming from bench players - another indication of just how far our second string has come along when playing against a lower tier NBA franchise.
Hopefully they will step up enough to spark a revival of the Suns early season prowess going forward. If not - making the play-offs could prove out of reach this year.

The most pleasant surprise of the evening came from Robin Lopez - a second year player from Stanford who is starting to learn how to put his imposing 7-foot frame to work down low. While Robin's development has been slower than that of his brother Brooke - one of the few stand-outs on the New Jersey Nets - he has begun showing shot blocking and inside scoring skills that offer some promise.
As a consequence - we have started relenting on our calls for RoLo to be jettisoned to any team that will take him.
What else can we do?!? While he isn't a favorite here at www.sunsstufft.com Robin Lopez hit for 16 points in 30:21 minutes against Golden State putting him near the top of the team scoring list and RoLo's 8-8 from the free throw line punished the Warriors every time they hacked the big man in close. Not bad - not bad.
But our top scorer was that ol' Steve Nash who played another extraordinary game as he hit for 23 points and grabbed four rebounds. Yes, in an unusual turn of fate - Nash passed for only 6 assists.
Don't worry - we don't begrudge the wiry 35-year old from up North - because in this game we needed his shot to overcome an early Golden State lead that reached 10 points early in the first half.
Now the Saturday win is just the latest chapter in a season that has seen the Suns drop from an extraordinary 14 - 3 early record to the finger nail biting 26 - 19 win/loss that we have right now - a record that has us teetering on the brink of being bumped from a play-off spot.
That makes Monday's game against Utah - in Utah - a crucial contest and we'll be back on Sunday to throw some thoughts on the table in advance of that showdown.
See ya'
