So here we are - it's the waning days of February and the Suns are on a run. Not just a small run but the type that brings back visions of the 14-3 season start they had back in October and November. Could it be that we will close-out the season with a Big Shower of W's that will put us right up there with Denver and LA as one of the elite teams of the Western Conference????
Sure it is early yet to predict how this 2010 play-off run will end - or if the Suns will even make the post-season. But if all goes well tonight against the struggling Kings - and we've won three in a row against them this season - Phoenix will be well placed to best last season's 46-26 record. A small feat - but one few of our readers thought would happen.
This evening the big money guys in Vegas are on our side with the Super Sportsbook at the LV Hilton touting the Suns as 10 point favorites and the MGM Grand following suit. Amd that Big Love from the oddsmakers comes despite an awful performance by the Suns top scoring guards in Friday's contest against the Atlanta Hawks - Nash, Richardson, and Dragic combined for just 7 of 27 from the field in that Phoenix victory.

So the shooting percentage from our guards was just a small notch above 25% - the worst performance all season. And yet - in proof that the Suns may be hittinh their late season stride - we still won against the Hawks - an Eastern Conference stand-out this year. And we have moved-up from the #7 spot in the NBA West to the #6 spot. A step in the right direction that needs to be susteained if Phoenix is to get an easier first round opponent in the post-season.
The upcoming contest against the Kings - slated to start about two hours from now - offers the Suns an opportunity to get well ahead of last season's pace as we move toward the stretch run in March and April. And it will keep the home fires buring as all of Suns fandom waits with baited breath for our play-off hopes to be realized.
See ya'.
