Hobbled for much of the game by a dirth of 3-point buckets, the Phoenix Suns pulled it out in the fourth quarter to win a convincing 116 - 106 victory over the Houston Rockets on Sunday after Amar'e Stoudemire nailed 35 points in little more than 40 minutes on the court.
Stoudemire's most convincing moments came in the midst of the fourth quarter when he hit six straight points to keep the Suns in the mix - that's how we made it from 94 to 100 on that pesky home court scoreboard.
After Amar'e knocked down those three shots from the field, Steve Nash, Channing Frye and Jason Richardson exploded on the Rockets by hitting 3-pointers from long range as the Suns offense went into overdrive.
Talk about a season of destiny - the win gives the Suns 52 victories on the season and we aren't even done yet.

Along with pushing Phoenix into a even better position as we race towards the Western Conference play-offs - they are now in a 3-way tie for third place - the win is the latest in our "Let's Break the Bank Victory Tour".
No - that is not reference to your mortgage payment - and you are not authorized to literally 'break the bank'.
Instead, it's a reference to the pain our Suns are causing the Vegas oddsmakers. You see, the Suns 10-point win is the latest in a string of victories this season that has Suns fandom raiding the cash drawer at the sports book windows in Vegas because - at places like the Las Vegas Hilton and MGM Mirage - the Suns were merely 9-point favorites.
So as a result - starting with the Suns 132-96 slaughter of the New York Knicks on March 26 - our Suns have beat the point spread in six of their last nine appearances. No bad for a bunch of guys who didn't even make the play-offs last season.

So take advantage of the fun while you can, keep the wallet handy near that (legal) betting and buckle-up for more.
See ya'.
