So here we are in the midst of another grinding day of college football and so far there is little to show for it but an absurdly low scoring LSU vs. Georgia game that may bring another upset to the forefront. Being a hardcore basketball fan you may be watching the big boys in pads crashing into each other in that southeastern brawl but it doesn't really salve your jones for the feel of the hardwood so you are scratching around for something to do that has a least a slight odor of B-Ball. We're talking about helping Jason Richardson and casting a vote that will move our high scoring guard towards winning the prestigious Jefferson Award. Yep, we know - what's that? Well the whole thing is sponsored by a Ronnie Lott group going under the moniker of All Stars Helping Kids and their intent is to encourage celebrity athletes to give something back to the younger set.

JRich has been doing just that for years and this summer his Jason Richardson Foundation did some excellent work by supporting a feeding program that reached out a helping hand to 1,000 needy families. They also raised a boatload of money for programs administered by established charities like the United Way that were aimed at giving a boost to struggling inner city families. And let's not forget his Project 2018 that's focused on the goal of sending 100 deserving kids to college by the year 2018.

So take some time and and warm your heart a little bit by casting a vote for the good works being done in Phoenix by our very own Jason Richardson. After all, tomorrow is Sunday and real sports haven't even started yet.
