Sometimes we just get a feeling in our bones - you know - that big "Got to have it" jonzzzz.

And that's when it would be good to have a horse standing at the door so we could just trot off to the closest gambling den and put a wad of cash down on a B-ball sure winner. We're not encouraging any illicit stuff here... none of that bookie pulling betting slips from the trunk of the car stuff.

No - we're strictly Vegas/ Reno legal - but tonight we had one of those feelings. It was a fierce itch but we couldn't do any scratching.

Our itch started because the odds makers had the Suns as just 5 1/2 point favorites against the Golden State Warriors. Yep, they figured that our Suns would barely overcome the ever fluctuating moods of Golden State and Coach Nelson. But we're glad to report there was some "get back" in the air as Phoenix romped against Golden State by the score of 123 - 101 and Suns faithful throughout Nevada have fuller pockets as we speak. Take that between the eyes you oddsmaking snakes.

But it is not complicated friends - this is the kind of win that happens when each of your five starters scores 18 points or more.

Yes - the five who hit the court when it all began nailed a combined 102 points and 28 rebounds. That would have blown the LA Lakers off the court and then some. The tale of the tape goes like this:

  • Leandro Barbosa led the Suns in scoring with 24 points while hitting more than 2/3 of his shots from the field - including two long balls from beyond the arc
  • Steve Nash coupled 18 points with an eye-popping 20 assists
  • Channing Frye burned-up the Warriors defense going 6 -7 from three-point range and grabbed 8 defensive rebounds
  • Amar'e Stoudemire hit for 20 points with a slew coming from down low
  • Grant Hill scored 18 points and was the spark that started the Suns off on the right foot from the opening minute

Of course Aunt Nellie was thrilled - she's even planning to cook Grant some down home goodness if he ever stops by the homestead.

We'll do some big time comparisons shortly. See ya'.
