There's nothing like celebrating the Suns stunning early season success and their 10 - 2 record. It's a wonderful feeling and all fandom should be basking in the glow.
Except for maybe that loyal band of Suns fans who are Goran Dragic boosters and don't appreciate the downward glances those of us here at www.sunsstufft.com have cast at their buddy's performance on the court. True loyalists - and apparently real nice guys - they are as persistent as a plague of locusts in defending the honor of their man.
But a look at the stats of the Suns Slovenian sub show some real reasons for concern.

For Goran Dragic - despite some improvement over last year's dismal rookie showing - the trouble is two fold. And we're going to start with the Big TO - that's right - Turn Overs. Sure he's now playing more minutes as the Suns try to groom Goran into a real back-up point guard but it's hard to be patient as he just gives the ball away.
Yes - he's averaging 14.6 minutes per game - but Dragic has also lost the ball 21 times so far this season. That's 1.8 turnovers per game and 5.8 turnovers per 48 minutes on the court. Maybe more revealing - Goran Dragic is the 24th worst sub in the entire NBA when it comes to turnovers.
Just not where you want to be on that list - especially when Goran is a point guard who is supposed to be running the offense during his minutes on the court.
And then there is Dragic's less than impressive shooting from the floor and the free throw line. Sure - on a lot of teams - benchwarmers aren't expected to hit much from the field but Goran's 46.5% from 2-point range puts him near the bottom of the Suns subs (Louis Amundson 57.4%, Leandro Barbosa 52.8%, and Jared Dudley 47.4% to name a few).
Also Dragic's free throw shooting has been jaw-droppingly horrible. Jeez - he's only made 54.5% of this gimme points and those misses could cost us games as the season wears on.
So for all you Goranites and defenders of ol' Dragic - hopefully you can will your favorite to improve in these key areas. Then we will all be on the same page.
See ya'.
