There's a new definition of hell - and we're sure some of you lived through it on Monday.

For those of you who don't get it - just imagine betting the farm on the Suns beating the Philidelphia Seventy-Sixers and having to watch Phoenix fall behind 66 - 54 at the end of the first half. Adding to the agony, Philly was burning-up the court during the first 24 minutes by shooting about 60% from the field.

Yes - the Suns were being beaten at their own high scoring game by an Eastern Conference straggler that might not even get a decent play-off berth. A Philly team that averaged less than 100 points per contest was knocking the peeee out of us with offense. Ugggh.

Talk about sitting on the butt-end of an accordion and getting a bit squezzed.

But then there was redemption - a true pot of gold at the end of the rainbow - and his name was Nash. (Sorry for mixing those pesky - umm - metaphors)

Nailing two-thirds of his buckets from the field and excelling in the assist category with 20 - the wiry Canadian was the true glue that held the Suns together when their energy on the court was flagging. And let's not discount Nash's long distance scoring either.

His 3-pointer at 3:25 in the third quarter drew the Suns to within four points of Philly's dwindling lead (77 - 81) and - on the next possession - he sent a pass into Grant Hill for an easy lay-up that closed the gap to a mere two points. From then on, it was all guts and glory for the Suns.

Then you have Jason Richardson's 18 points from beyond the arc - he went 6-8 from three point land - and hit for a total of 29 points. Quite impressive when you consider that his shooting percentage was higher from beyond the three-point line than it was from closer to the basket.

C'mon J-Rich, talk about your inverted stats.

Then - let us toot his horn at full blast - Jared Dudley was another force of nature with a stunning 18 points in just 22:05 minutes - talk about efficiency on the court. What a blast it was to watch Duds swarm on both ends of the court. Not quite enough to make a grown man cry - but he sure was getting close.

We'll have some more reaction to the Suns awesome start to the 2009-10 season soon.

See ya'.
