Yep - our Suns brought it home in style with a 106-103 win over the Orlando Magic and as result our guys remain the only NBA team to go undefeated at home so far this seaon. The franchise's 8-0 at-home start is also the best home game beginning for the Suns in 15 years.
And it's all because our two biggest guns were firing at a Hall-of-Fame pace on Friday night with performances that should comprise a must viewing highlight reel for years to come.
Sure - we have been rock solid Amar'e Stoudemire fanatics for years - but even those skeptics lurking in the netherworld of the internet should be sending-up some praise after our man STAT engaged in some real teaching on the court as he jammed for 28 points and 10 rebounds against the Orlando Magic's towering Dwight Howard.
That's right - Amar'e beat down Superman in an inside battle of the strong men. Yes - Howard pulled down rebounds like he was eating ice cream at the beach - but his scoring was nothing compared to Stoudemire's (28 - 10) even though Howard was on the court for a minute more than Amar'e.
Yep - roll 'em and smoke 'em because it was sweeeeet!!
As if to put an exclamation point on the whole experience - Amar'e was the last Suns player to score after he wrestled down a rebound from a failed Jared Dudley 3-point shot. Talk about earning your keep - and keeping it real. A little silence from the critics is in order and maybe even a thank you note - after all - he's cruising to another All-Star appearance and Amar'e deserves every accolade and then some.
And bring on the applause - can you hear it roar?? - for Steve Nash. His 20-point, 18-assist and 7-rebound performance was a jem to watch. Along with some impressive scoring of his own, Steve-O's crisp passes were an essential part of keeping the Suns offense on track as they knocked down 47.7% of their shots from the field and overcame Orlando's 3-point attack which accounted for 39 of the Magic's 103 points.
That's all we have for now - Aunt Nellie wants Stoudemire's cell phone so she can hook-up a date, we've been working our little fingers to the bone and need to gear-up for a tough Saturday evening game in Denver. Keep the faith - and let the good times roll.
See ya'.
